Something I never thought about posting. Piitish has a shift in meaning where "interpret" has come to mean "smell".
Tyþa in old norse
Tyda "Interpret" in modern Swedish
Tev "Smell" in Piitish
"Interpret" in Piitish is a variant of "toid"

Re: What did you accomplish today?
Ok, as I always rework my previous iterations I have a lot of the grammar stuff done but I'm stuck on the vowels. I have set my sights on a four vowel iteration but I can't decide on what kind of suprasegmental feature I want, or if I should have a couple more diphthongs. No more consonants I alread...

Re: False cognates
So brothel means in effect "the place where it (marriages, relations whatever) falls apart"? Haha.... oh.
edit: also brothel kind of looks like Swedish "bryt|a" to|break.

If you mean standard Finnish, then yes. Some very southern finnic dialects have /f/ in their phonemic inventory.

One the other hand, I have always said X är sedd av Y which is some kind of aspect development where Swedish originally had none. It means exactly the same as in English The X is seen by the Y including the is(är) . Often Swedish doesn't use aspect and instead say The Y have seen the X . I only use ...

From the top of my head, I wrote something about the anaphoric locative or indefinite locative as I noticed you took my description of it as if there was a need for imperative speech when using it. The text makes sense, no? The anaphoric locative is never used with the first person, that is when spe...

Okay so I have this marker -h , which I call an indefinite locative indef. locative for lack of a better word. Basically what it does is that it calls out to the performer to use the needed motion to perform the task. Ex. hand -h that; grab it . What I would like to know is (1) if this exists in the...
