Re: Has anyone ever reinvented something for a conworld? (ex: numerical system, religion, music composition, etc)
I came up with a religous system for Saltha, that's sort of monotheistic (there's on God), but there are also self-existing lesser beings who are not refered to as God's, but more like a term like "angel" but they are not created or nessicerly subservant to Santha Which i guess is effectri...

Re: If you were to write one novel...
I was working on a story that's a bit of a fish out of water story about a kid (I tend to write kid protagonists naturally for some reason). I Actually shared some it here a long time ago. I love the idea of exploring this world (or any world) from an outsider's POV and trying to adapt. Unfortunatel...

This was really cool! I follow the channel WorldbuildingNotes and I'm always interested in more people telling stories from their world.

Re: Are your main conpeople human or of a different species?
My main con-world consists mostly of lizard folk (Salthans)(, or rather, the lizard folk are the ones I focus on mainly. There are humans too, and jungle-cat people, though I havn't really fleshed out their cultures a lot. They have a vaguely human-like shape, I guess with green scaley skin, and a t...

Re: Naming Practices
In Saltha, a name is given shortly after birth, when they are sure the baby will survive (probibly a few weeks), chosen by the parents. He takes the middle name of his mother, and's family, and his last name his father's family. When the boy comes of age at 10, and underges the ceremony of the Uagi,...

Re: "She's a ten!"
Salthans would measure in a scale from 1-25, with 25 being "perfect". so I guess around 12-13 would be "average". Though maybe calling someone a 25 might be considered sacraligious to some, though it'd maybe be taken as simple exaggeration. (Though then again, as someone pointed ...

Re: It's Time To Change It All...
Saltha uses a base-25 system. I hadn't thought much of using it for time, because I figured it'd be a pain, so they just use our method of tracking time. (Also, awesome picture, Metropolis!) As for time? I once tried to come up with a novel calendar and time keeping method... It was really frustrati...

... in 447 KG ... in 3 NG ... What year system do they use? Salthan national year calcualtion is based on counting to when the republican senate was estalbished. KG (Kal Gishisenai, Lit. "Before senate") and NG (Ne Gishisenai, "after the senate"). Today's date is the 7th day of ...

Re: Government
In Saltha (A land of desert dwelling lizaardfolk), The country was ruled by separate clan chiefs of city-states. They later unified under a single king Sapa in 447 KG as a single nation. Then the great revolution which started in 3 NG overthrew Kakel. He was the worst and most corrupt of kings, caus...

Re: Boy of two worlds (Fiction)
I've been working on this more, and did an update. (Though I got rid of chapter 1 for now) I was thinking Zack would be wanting to take part in a sort of painfuil coming of age ceremony (10 licks with a short whip across teh bare bottom), which would make him an "Uagi", and would solve the...

Re: Lizardfolk biology
Specifically, I was thinking what this would mean in terms of treating sick/injured Salthans (both in general treatment practices and in surgery) that would be different from humans, and what maybe a manual would look like for doctors in a non-sathan country (e.g. humans) for treating Salthans. I d...

Re: Lizardfolk biology
Fair enough -- but take a look here . I've found several links to Salthan culture. Yeah. I mean, there's no topic I can see (even on that list) specifically focusing on Salthan biology (beyond a basic description). Do you mean, I should have put this inside one of those topics instead of making a n...

I've never shared my painting here, have I? I've started painting miniatures. I've been doing it for almost a year now. Re: What did you accomplish today?
I'm doing a mind map of my language (which has about 600 words) to figure out if I have too many derivatives). About 100 words done so far. Red are root words, Orange are words derived from a single source (I haven't mapped out all the elements yet), Yellow from two sources and green from three sour...

Re: Obscure vs Transparent Derivations/Etymologies
This is a problem I feel like I'm running into for Karathnai (Salthan), though I'm currently working on a mind map of all the words and how they relate to kind of see how much this is a factor (About 1/6th of the way done. :P). The thing is, he language was developed by an extremely isolated people ...
