Re: CBB Fanfic Society
Micamo, where may I find all the public documentation about Ch'shkwil'? I was thinking of story set in a similar world, so I would like to give it a try within an already outlined conworld. If you like.

Re: Gay marriage, polygamy, etc.
Does your conworld have same-sex marriage, polygamy, child marriage, interspecies marriage, necrophiliac marriage, etc.? I wish people could make a different thread for same-sex marriage and polygamy, which are legit practices. I don't think it sounds right to compare it to child marriages and necr...

Re: On a meaningless world
There's no purpose to the universe I really don't think so. According to our most recent physics, it really looks like every single bit of the universe does have purposes. Conservative thinkers have been trying to convince us that everything that happens has causes . A ball moves because it is hit ...

Can someone identify these chinese characters?
I tried my best, but I am not a pro with photoshop. I would not be surprised if at least one or two strokes were wrong. I still hope that someone can identify them. (Yes. apparently, I can't think of a method to look up a Chinese character starting with an image file) Here we go: http://s23.postimg....

Re: Beyond Phoneme Inventories: Building a complete phonolog
In South Korea, this sound cannot occur at the start of a word or directly following another consonant: historical /l/ in these positions generally merged with /n/ Well, not quite. 1 ) First of all, it does not merge with /n/. It is indeed realized as /n/, but in a position whereas the <n> is not p...

Re: Aiga Religions
Kuwashism sounds a little of like a problematic religion. (I don't want to sound too harsh, just trying to give you useful tips) Ok. I actually quite enjoyed the first part. First, you start off with chaos and you assert the emergency of order from chaos, and this is completely fine. It sounds quite...

That's a little bit of a misconception. I think you're not considering the difference between complexity and difficulty: logograms are hard to learn and to remember, but they're certainly not complex. One symbol = one word. No exceptions, no additional rules.Squall wrote:Written with Chinese ideograms.

Re: Speak Gadyl - דוילע הגדיליר - Doiallá hagdillir
No, I really wanted to know how to say "what do you want us to talk about?" It heavily depends on the context. The most natural and informal way to say it is: ----------------- Doiallá (mē) meti? (We) Speak-[volitive] about.what? What shall we speak about? ----------------- Doiallá (mē) a...

Is this even Gadlīl? [o.O] That used to be Gadyl. However, at some point I decided to start it from scratch, and that bit became outdated. The only information about up-to-date Gadyl that can be found on this forum are in this thread. If you are really curious about it, it was Tā šalīta gadlĕs mū? ...

Re: Speak Gadyl - דוילע הגדיליר - Doiallá hagdillir
This sounds odd and tedious. So if you have a conversation about someone who is not there, you have to address them by their name every time? I have the inkling that people would quickly devise a shortcut for this, unless there are no names in Gadyl with more that two syllables. It's actually quite...

Re: Help me defining my typologically undefined type of scri
So logographs are the complete root? Or are they one letter in the root? Each logograph is a combination of either one, two or three consonants. For instance, these are the three logograms that appear in the first block of sample I posted: http://s4.postimg.org/7efl7j1jh/table.png The first one is ...

Help me defining my typologically undefined type of script
http://s16.postimg.org/huxp743xx/Capture.png These days I am working on the writing script for my liturgical language Gadyl , and I have to admit that I am quite satisfied about it. However, I found out that I really struggle to describe it typologically, it doesn't really fit with any other script...

Actually, I was talking about the poor lyrics.shimobaatar wrote:Do they not sound like native speakers to you?
However, it is true that most of the times kpop-ish korean doesn't sound like natural korean. I think it is because they're trying to sound american, somehow.
