Re: Language practice thread
Thosaigh mé ag foghlaim Gaeilge arís roinnt lae ó shin ach is deacair a foghlaim teanga nuair nach bhfuil aithne ag duine ar dhuine éigin ar féidir an teanga sin ag labhairt leis. I started to learn Irish again a few days ago, but it is hard to learn a language when you don't know anyone who is abl...

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here
I'd like to try doing an Uto-Aztecan conlang spoken in Mexico, but I can't decide what branch to work from. Which Uto-Aztecan branches in Mexico (besides Nahuan) have enough documentation to work with?

Re: What did you accomplish today?
(Wow I haven't posted here in a while) I've gotten various things done since I posted on the CBB last, but I wanted to mention just what I did today. I've made at least four sad attempts at making a logography for often undeveloped conlangs, but today and yesterday I've gotten the furthest in a logo...

Se a palavra seguinte empeça com /i/ (mas não /j/), se deve usar "e".
If the next word starts with /i/ (but not /j/), you should use "e".
Eu sei que meu português é merda.
I know my Portuguese is shit.

What are some ways that a split-ergative system could arise from an ergative-absolutive system and what would cause the shift?
I'm just looking for a general guideline rather than a specific detailed strategy (if that makes sense) so it doesn't completely come from someone else.

Re: What did you accomplish today?
I've been working much less on my conlangs than I used to a while ago, but I still conlang even for a little bit most days. In the last week I've been doing some sound changes from Classical Kauzic to Ythnandosian, and some of those sound changes involve the creation of nasalized vowels. I didn't fe...

Re: CBB Conlang Relay VIII
I love the woman who appears out of nowhere (...) This one was certainly my error; I received a "person" from Smtuval, but I didn't have a generic word for person (and refused to create one due to language-internal reasons); so I had to decide between a man and a woman. I basically threw ...

Sent the torch to Iyionaku (and apologies for taking an extra day). I ended up speed developing and using Classical Kauzic for the relay.

In that case I'll either use Kuazhang or Classical Kauzic. Whichever has more of what I need at the moment.

Re: CBB Conlang Relay VIII
How would you guys feel about me using my romlang? It's pretty much my most developed conlang since I'm in the middle of rebooting Kauzic but I'm worried it might be too easy for the next person.
