Re: Analysis Swap
Yay! I'm cooking up a quick sketch language right now. (Decided not to do Xúuuatxia, since even if you've not seen it, Visions has.)

Re: Analysis Swap
I think a better way would actually be to have multiple participants in the analysis. Like, if A, B, and C are playing, we'd have a thread where A and B analyze C's language, a thread where B and C analyze A's language, and a thread where A and C analyze B's language. That way, if any one person go...

Re: Analysis Swap
I haven't read your documentation for Xúuuatxia, so I'm still spoiler-free :) Oh, that's good, then! I might well use it, then. I'd probably be using Hiding Waters, which definitely has documentation available. You'd just want to not read it, and then at some point we can see whether the analyses w...

Re: Analysis Swap
THIS LOOKS SO FUN!!!!!!!!!! I will happily join! However, Xúuuatxia (and 2c2ef0 ) are well-documented already, and the Areyaxi languages must remain secrets. With Sketch's OK, the two of us together could do Arskiilz, but in the meantime I'll start thinking about another language to do it with that ...

Re: Arayaz's thread so that she doesn't flood the forum
A reduplicated noun could well form an augmentative, but a collective meaning would also make sense. So perhaps it's fluid between those two meanings depending on the word. I'm hoping this isn't a dumb question... So íoaníoan could be "humanely" or "people(all of them, in general)&qu...

Xúuuatxia: Miscellany and Cleanup 1 Reflexives, reduplication, and an endonym REFLEXIVES In Toxèix Haio iu - ostoaxiia , I used the reflexive suffix -an . At least, I think I did ... I made a note to myself that -an was a reflexive, at least, which makes me think that i probably used it there. Ah, ...

Re: Teka: New Romance conlang
I think you will probably be OK. What your conlang actually does, is way more important than what words you use to describe or explain it. The main advantage of using established terms with established meanings, is saving time and effort; both your readers’ and your own. If you make up a new term, ...

Re: Look on my works, ye mighty, and dispair!
If it was black Friday, it'd fit the title. Not to drag the thread off topic, but I always thought "Black Friday" was a fitting name. I know "black" refers to being "in the black" financially, but the fact that people literally kill each other over sales on Black Frida...

Re: Teka: New Romance conlang
What strikes me more is how few of the users who posted in this thread are still active on the forum today. It seems like the CBB's active userbase steadily declined after a peak in the early 2010s. There are what, maybe a dozen people who post in the Conlangs section more than once a month now? Ye...

Re: Arayaz's thread so that she doesn't flood the forum
I really need an actual name for Hóubenk. Especially since (1) that's not a valid word anymore and (2) I hate its sound. I think I'll build its name off of xúuan "mouth, voice"; it'd be followed by a relativized stative verb with the semantic range "good, familiar, normal." Now I...

Re: peto - a new minimalistic language which is a reform of puna
Thakowsaizmu's language was, I'm certain, a joke. Also, Thakowsaizmu has been inactive for almost nine years and will doubtlessly not respond to your criticism. Also, you shouldn't be reviving long-dead threads. That's called necroposting, and honestly, it's rather annoying. Especially since practic...
