Re: Your first conlang
I started to conlang when I was 5 and my first conlang was named after my name, which is It's my deepest secret , and this conlang was just relex of Polish, with distinct English and Polish versions of some words. It was terrible... However, my first real conlang was Pekos, and it was engelang, in w...

Re: Conlang mini-ideas
My mini-ideas:. - The engelang whose structure is based not on the action and the objects that are associated with it, but on the relationship between two concepts. - Another engelang in which instead of pronouns there are variables, and each verb takes as arguments two variables that are phonologic...

Re: Non-spheroid conworlds (now talking about horizons)
I have an idea: a flat world, which orbit around the moon, like other celestial objects (flat sun?). In this world there are not day and night, but hot time (sun near the world), cold time (sun away from the world) and dark time (sun behind the moon). Lots of things depend on world's rotation relati...

Re: Random Conworld idea thread
I think that dragons at start used human laguages modified to fit the sounds what dragon can pronounce, and later dragon languges evolved independently from human languages.
Edit: I decided that Xi'im and Kɯuŋ will be in this conworld.

I have an idea: the conworld which is identical to our world except of the mysterious disease that turns humans into dragons. Does it make sense?

Re: Kɯuŋ - The Unique Language
Hmmm. 1. So kuŋ means "language," but it also means "we (exclusive) sense them"? And r̼ɔt means "tree," but it also means "some (singular ???) are the two of us"? 2. And how do you have number inflections on an anaphoric item meaning "all"? 1. Verbs...

Kɯuŋ - The Unique Language
Kɯuŋ is an engelang that is intended to meet the following assumptions: 1. Phrases are very short. 2. Phrases are tongue twisters. 3. Names are entire sentences. Kɯuŋ Phonology Consonants in Kɯuŋ fit into a table: /p f m l̼ r̼ ʘ/ /t s n l r ǀ/ /k x ŋ ʟ ʀ ǂ/ Vowels, for a change, fit into a triangle:...

The art is not in not making mistakes - the art is in learning from them. The fact that your minimalistic conlang cannot be used in everyday conversations means that something is clearly wrong.

Re: Arayaz's thread so that she doesn't flood the forum
I am Polish, and I am surrounded by Indo-European languages, in which /x/ is always transcribed with <h>; so I like transcribing /x/ with <x>. I can't think of a single Indo-European language in which /x/ is written <h>; it's usually <kh> or <ch> (or <j> in Spanish). And Polish is Indo-European too...

Re: Philosolang
A very original idea; I wouldn't come up with something like that... But what about the syntax? You've described in detail how words are formed, but how do you put those words together into sentences? For example, syntax may have to do with your concepts of good-evil-heaven-satan. As for these conce...

<x> for an alveo Are you against using X or C for the alveolo-palatal sibilant? I use X in Hapoish, Quispe, Txabao, and Javartu. Oooo, <x> could look quite nice. I usually dislike it for /ʃ/, but as in this case I think it tends more towards [xʲ] it could work very well. Thank you! You're welcome! ...
