Re: Word generators
I'm using online word generators to hone the phonotactics of my language. But I can't say I'm entirely happy with the ones I've found. Awkwords v1.2 is easily the most functional of the lot. But the filter feature doesn't quite do what I want it to do. So instead of filtering out illegal strings I ...

Adding words
Are you just translating words all the time from a dictionary/word list or are you making texts and then making new words for the words you don't have? Or are you doing something different? I mean, a while ago, I found a list with The 1000 Most Common Dutch Words. I decided to translate them, but af...

Program to make dictionaries
Hey conlangers, Currently my Bløjhvåtterskyll dictionary has more than 1200 words (haven't really counted them, numbers aren't included, and so on. Could be 1300, could be 1500, not every word is included, some words aren't correct anymore because they were made 2 years ago and not used since than, ...

Wrote my first noun phrase in :con: Mets 3.0 today.: Yegáalhuulhúuwaw kíinutiháabaal híixuutwuluuts. PROX.PL-AL.1.PL-PL/ cat AL.1.SG- village -ABL PL/ river -ADE These cats of ours from my village near the rivers. Woah, that looks pretty difficult. Three extremely long words with a lot of doubled v...

I've working on - and expanding - the case system. There will be a set of locational cases which can be combined with locational morphemes ('inside', 'on top of', etc.) to yield a number of compound cases. ablative1: -yo locative: -yi lative: -yin perlative: -bol location on top of: -val- -valyo -v...

Re: Bløjhvåtterskyll: conlang with more than 1200 words!
Could you please be so kind to explain the difference between those? I'm not that familiar with those grammatical terms in English. Which terms in particular are you referring to? Phonemes/phones/allophones. This one is a little different than I posted. I listened both on Wikipedia and I can't real...

Re: Bløjhvåtterskyll: conlang with more than 1200 words!
You don't have to transcribe every sentence in IPA. You can, though, if you want to point out something about that word/sentence that you think is phonologically interesting. Also, many people start out by talking about the sounds that their conlang has, how those sounds are represented, and how th...

How do you know where the stresses are?
Btw, I like your conlang. Interesting word choice, it's nowhere near English/Dutch/whatever, but because of the simple grammar you can still understand some things after searching every word in your mini enormous dictionary.

Re: Bløjhvåtterskyll: conlang with more than 1200 words!
Meh, I'll just make videos, such as this one. I'd still highly recommend learning the IPA. Not only does it make it easier for you to read about natlangs and other people's conlangs, it also makes it easier for people to read about your conlang(s). For many of the same reasons, I'd recommend learni...

Re: Bløjhvåtterskyll: conlang with more than 1200 words!
It seems very Germanic, your conlang. That was actually the goal: making a language that could be spoken in the western of Europe, with major influences of Scandinavian and Celtic languages and minor influences of Roman and some other European languages. Bløjhvåtterskyll has irregular verbs and mor...
