Re: Indo-European diachronic collablang
Well I just used the same word list that Artaxes used, and because it's their project I'm happy to let them pick the roots. Maybe our con people picked up a few Caucasian words on the way to the Arabian Peninsula or Northern Africa. I don't remember what I voted for the influence, but I'm happy to v...

Re: Indo-European diachronic collablang
kanejam, I think Artaxes meant simplifying only /t+s/ and /d+s/ with compensatory lengthening in rule 42, like Latin pēs from PIE * ped-s . Ah, that might make sense. Just to nitpick, you forgot to remove the h in e/a/_h₂ e/o/_h₃ Really nice work, though! I did too, not that it matters because ever...

Re: Vagahau Niue resources
Sorry, the only thing I can find is the same teaching guide. If I'm not mistaken, Tongan is the nearest relative and there should be plenty of resources for that. You might be able to find more intorductory stuff in more general books on the Tongic or Polynesian languages as a whole. Can I ask why y...

Re: Indo-European diachronic collablang
So I had a go at redoing the sca2 sound changes, just to get them a bit neater than Artaxes'. I was only somewhat successful, but I think I caught a few mistakes, and also added in the latest round of voting. Most of the differences are simply orthographic (/ʋ ɛ ɪ ɾ/ → <v e i r>), but the biggest di...

Re: Indo-European diachronic collablang
Oh, crap, that is pretty ambiguous, isn't it? Sorry! [>_<] I meant it to be asking how far we want to go with sound changes before "going back" and working on morphosyntax and semantics and such. Ah, well in that case I think this is a perfect time to start on morphosyntactic changes. We ...

Re: Indo-European diachronic collablang
76) a 77) wait a minute, is this question asking where the sound changes we have so far have taken us? If so I don't think we're much past 1500BCE. Or is the question asking how far we should keep going? In that case I vote 0CE. Of course we'll need to take Morphosyntactic changes into account as we...

Re: Swiss German (Chur)
I would love to see some more! It all looks very interesting and the few forms you have shown so far are all very tantalising.
The one thing I'll request is a short discussion of common feautures in other Swiss dialects, especially where your own differs from the 'norm'.

Re: What did you accomplish today?
I must say Wenedyk fucks with my Polish mind. When I see a text in Wenedyk, my mind expects to understand it, and goes into a „WTF mode“ when it doesn’t work. The same thing happens when I hear Dutch, especially the varieties that are light on the uvular fricatives. I don't get it in writing becaus...
