Someone who believed in Belesudo would explain it the same way Myers-Briggs fans explain why two ISTP's can have non-identical personalities, or the way astrologers explain Pisces who don't seem to fit the Pisces mold at first glance. They will use any behavior to "back up" the person's classification, and no behavior can disprove it. Belesudos fans have the same mindset that astrology buffs, enneagram aficionados and so on do. They also explain variation by the fact that a person can have more than one inso inside them simultaneously, which makes for a lot of permutations.
Also, much as with auras, two people might see two different insos/colors or combinations of insos in the same tested individual. A believing "testee" would say that one doctor is a better "insologist" than the other.

When you say frequency it doesn't have to be a sine wave. Frequencies can be added together and different overtones can be brought forth. Just to stay in the metaphor of waves.
