Oops, I worded that wrong. I meant I made a map in inkscape as a PNG.
Oh okay. I do that plenty.

Does anyone approve of my script for High Nyazish? It developed on its own, and is designed to look like runes.

not bad :)

do they have any possible in-world external influences? that is, were the in-world inventors inspired by other scripts?
I prefer to not be referred to with masculine pronouns and nouns such as “he/him/his”.

Not that I know of; they're pretty isolated. They're all a priori glyphs.

ok :)

so they had a pretty self-standing culture? or is it possible that some traders from a society with scripts came to their island and brought them inspirations?

Well, its descendant, Modern Nyazish, may borrow some extra glyphs if they need to (if, for example, one of the native glyph is too hard to write or there isn't enough glyphs to represent all the sounds). However, I'd like to actually keep the script I spent hours on, so I won't be getting rid of it completely.

Looks like the Wiki hasn't been too active lately. BTW, a while ago Loglorn mentioned a soil fertility map. Is it done?

Free time for that has yet to come. Won't take that long now though.

Like i said, not long:

Image
The redder the more fertile.

All the reddest parts correspond to volcanism spots. It's somewhat tentative though, since i might've put too few volcanoes. Could smappy or someone else as geologically knowledgeable show me where the volcanoes actually are?

The parts over water are mostly wind blowing fertile soil into sea, therefore benefiting all islands in there.

nice :) thank you :)

by the way, it seems that your Gigxpoyan peoples will have a plenty of agricultural produces when they accept agriculture?

I'm making a volcanic map based on our two separate discrete tectonic projections (smappster's (nickname) and mine)

Image
Red/Purple = my projection only
Yellow = Smappy's projection
Gray = both of us

Smappy's projection is unrealistic, especially as shown in Vrkhaz, where it confusingly splits across a region that would clear be a divergent rift, versus mine which avoids the confusion.

I've been using smappy's so far, as you might've noticed while superimposing my fertiilty map and his vulcans, because, as i see it, your tectonics don't really explain the mountain ranges.

But more volcanoes need added either way.

Yes, but his doesn't explain the abysses. Either the project should fake tectonics or do real tectonics. One allows us to retain the current scenario, and the other allows us to retain reality. Your choice.

When we started thinking about tectonics quite some time ago, this sort of problem was indeed foreseen, but we reached the same conclusion i reach here. This far into the project, changing the terrain would have far too many consequences, it'd force me to change the climate map, which in turn would change the agriculture starting point; together that'd be likely too screw with whatever conculture and conhistory the participants had already thought up. I'd rather stick with the current terrain.

If most project members actually feel like discussing stuff that deep, we surely could.

Is anyone up for a skype group? That way, we can talk to each other instantaneously, instead of waiting a few hours for a reply.
