Dig around the thread up to a few pages back and you'll find the latest.

Hi, I would like to get involved in the Teles project, how would I go about doing so?
Thanks

First thing I would do is carve out a piece of the map to place your language family.

This looks like the most recent photo. There have been 3 or so language families added in the period since, Marawo-Shodot, Dishashta, and the one of the poster prior to you.

Telö is also in the wrong place, and the format of my Gigxkpoyan has changed since then. There's a climate map in page 16 in case that weighs in your choice.

Most of the recent activity has been in the skype group.

Feel free to ask around.

I have never participated this project.
I would like to make a doughterlang of a proto-lang I have not made myself, because always when making proto-langs, I start already thinking about the daughter.

How does it work?
Can I just take a language that is red in a family tree or is there any copyright for them already?
And if so, what language would be a good one?

Red means that there is no language at that stage. And I would always ask for permission to use the language

You can make a daughterlang for Proto-Nautli, we initially planed for it to be a collab language family.

I selected myself an area for my language family, is it alright?

Large area for an urheimat. It's fine i think but you should speak to the owners of the nearby families.

Ah, ok, I'll just make it smaller so it covers the lower "peninsula". Should I post an updated map, or is that fairly self-explanatory?

The updated map would be nice

Actually, problem. One of the languages that I made uses that exact area as an urheimat, and the language to the east of it, the one that's in the peninsula, extends outo to the region by 800 AK

Post urheimat stuff can be discussed; there can be multilingualism, language does not exactly correspond to the people living there, etc, etc, but urheimat issues need to be addressed.

Yeah, that's one of the things that happens in the Akurigan Area, where you have multiple small isolates that are surrounded by two major families (or possibly 3, seeing where P-Umbric goes)

I'm fine with it, and Smtuval probably won't complain. Amalan could use more families.

Are you in the skype group?
