You're welcome.

Meanwhile . . .

On October 23, 2016, Kankonian reached 52,500 words.

On August 18, 2017, Kankonian reached 55,000 words!

Word #55,000 was bikhatila, the office of a khatila. A khatila is the fifth highest rank in the Kwemos Armed Forces, the Armed Forces of the planet Kwemos, which protect much of the Lehola Galaxy from attacks such as those by the Ratharians. (The Kwemians have a very non-humanlike vocal apparatus, so words for Kwemian concepts in Lehola's human languages come from a proxy language spoken on the planet Gwasouth.) Bikhatila is to khatila as "lieutenancy" is to "lieutenant".

EDIT: Oh, and 1,000 words is a great milestone as well!

The only thing I can say is that I am very very impressed by this! [O.O] How do you keep your dictionary, in a spreadsheet or something like word?

I managed to fill four pages of words in Cissian (or eight pages, depending on how you count). I'm quite proud of how I designed the dictionary to be honest! [:D]

in nkeasụsụala, lexicon stabilizes at a hundred "words"...
no way to reduce it a bit more ...
(philosophical a priori languages have a reverse measure of their success ...)

Thanks! I have my first 5,000 Kankonian words in Kankonian -> English files (ka.htm, kb.htm, kd.htm, etc.) and in English -> Kankonian files (ea.htm, eb.htm, ec.htm, etc.), and keep all the words added since 2003 in a spreadsheet file. (My spreadsheet file has 65,766 lines.) I also have a spreadsheet file that combines all my original Kankonian-English entries (with just over 5,000 Kankonian entries) and a spreadsheet file that combines all my original English-Kankonian entries (with just over 6,000 English entries), so I don't have to open a different letter .htm file every time I want to look up a word added before 2003.

That's awesome too! And your computer skills seem to be better than mine!

The highest Ive ever made it is a bit over 10000 words for Poswa. I dont know the exact number because I store my vocabylary in an Excel spreadsheet with lots of gaps between words. (It's easier, for example, to have all the placenames toegther, all of the (very few) loanwords together, and all of the newly created words I havent decided to accept yet toegther.)

But recently I trimmed it down to just a bit over 3000 (I think the exact number was either 3010 or 3040), by deleting all words that did not have satisfactory etymologies going back at least 6800 years to the Gold language, the parent language three steps back. Some of the rejected words were remnants of a word-generator I ran more than ten years ago, and which I've found very useful, but which gave me many words with phonetic shapes too specific for a language that derives from a CV ancestor. But most of the rejected words were just derivatives of other words, like for example five words for "rib", 12 for "conversation, dialogue", and so on where I only really need one or sometimes two words but originally created many more so I could pick out my favorite, and then never deleted the remainder.

Then you must be Mercator!

It's a shame you downsized the lexicon of Poswa. I had it on a list of conlangs with 10,000 or more words that I'm keeping. I've been able to find 46 of these languages, including Poswa -- 45 of which aren't my own. Do you want me to remove Poswa from my list now?

that's up to you, but I don't think I'll ever make it back to 10000 and I'm more proud of the ~3600 I have now than of the ~10500 i had had then, so i wouldnt put Poswa on that list myself.

I havent used the name Mercator in a long time, ... If I happen to be on the list for anything else I'd prefer to be known simply as Soap, despite not using that name here.

All right, I have removed Poswa from the list. Seeing as that was your only conlang with over 10,000 words, none of your conlangs are on the list any longer.

I try to refer to conlangers by their real names on my list.

Lozkazmat now has 88 words. I have plans to add another 912 words to Lozkazmat within a week.
Edit: And i hope to have 10 thousand words by the end of the year, though i'm not going to get my hopes up. I tend to get distracted by other things.

Lozkazmat has reached 400 words, the 400th being këöz. Meaning "to fight" or "to wrestle".

Wow! It's growing faster than Kankonian grows!

At that rate, you'll reach a thousand words in no time!

Then we can make a book titled The First Thousand Words in Lozkazmat.

Kankonian reached word #55,555 earlier today with isotomonakhi. It means "wrangeliaceous", and comes from isotomo, meaning Mortensenia, and nakha, which means clan, or by extension, taxonomic family, or branch of a language phylum.

On Tuesday, Kankonian reached 56,789 words.

The straw that broke the camel's back was pougosma, meaning "zombie fly, Apocephalus borealis".

Do all of you think I should count word #67,890 when I reach it? Or now are only 65,432, 76,543, etc. acceptable?

Edit: 2,018 posts! I've finally caught up with the current year in the number of posts I've made on the CBB.

On August 18, 2017, Kankonian reached 55,000 words.

On August 15, 2018, Kankonian reached 57,500 words.

The 57,500th word was asintzio, meaning flourish -- the noun sense -- as in "add a dramatic flourish".

In other news, I went in for a deep cleaning at the dentist's, and found out what the tool was called -- a (periodontal) scaler. I added a phonaesthetic word for "scaler" -- etzibki.

I feel like Khemehekis has killed this thread - no offense at all, but every small achievement pales in comparison to this incredible amount of vocabulary that Kankonian has. [:(]

That being said, I'm still proud of Caelian that has finally reached the 1,000 word mark. The 1,000st word is the root *g-lp-l, meaning "cigarette, to smoke a cigarette"
Wipe the glass. This is the usual way to start, even in the days, day and night, only a happy one.
