5th Yélian word:
bélanor [ˈbɛlanɔɾ] - snowman (Southern Standard)
belaur [ˈbelaʊɾ] - snowman (Northern Standard)
Nouns of the animate class, Plural
bélanoran/belauran, Collective
bélanoró/belauró
Both words derive from
bela - snow + the personal suffix
-or, the older *bélaor has developed differently in certain dialects: The Southern Dialects have added an epenthetic -n-, while the Northern dialect has changed the hiatus to a diphtong. However, both words occur equally frequently all over the Yélian language area.
Southern Standard Example:
A'bélanor on'iyin yinakibulet viydre parcaspulvon on'ádamar.
[aˈbelanɔɾ ɔnˈiʃin ʃiˌnakiˈbulɛt va̯iːdrə ˈpaɾkɐsˌpʊlvɔn ɔnˈadamaɾ]
Nothern Standard Example:
A'belaur on'îyin yinakibulet liyd parcaspulvon on'ádamar.
[aˈbelaʊ̯ɾ ɔnˈiɕin ɕiˌnakiˈbulət la̯iːd‿ˈaɾkɐsˌpʊlvɔn ɔnˈadamɐɾ]
DEF.ANIM=snowman DEF.GEN=child-PL PST-melt-3SG because_of sun-warm DEF.GEN=spring

Somehow my Yélian posts are way longer than the posts of other people. I hope I don't annoy anybody.
