Modal Verbs
There are 5 modal verbs in Kyüweng: all of them are irregular and differ heavily from normal verbs with regards to syntax. Although they can appear alone, they are typically suffixed to a verb's infinitive such as in Nongedop (I have to swim). Whenever the modal verb starts with a vowel, a -d- is placed between it and the infinitive. If more than one verb has the same object (or none at all) then all of them are prefixed to the modal with ·ui· (written ·ῳ·) such as in Genge·ui·psüngedas- I want to sing and fly.

Negation
Negation is expressed through prefixing and suffixing verbs

Α- Typical negative prefix for verbs
Αⲛ (An)- Used before verbs starting with vowels
Aγ (Ang)- Used before Гν and ևцϙк. When used before Гν, the Гν is dropped

When used in the imperative, the negative form becomes -αⲛ (an) is suffixed after all pronouns. When preceded directly by a vowel, it becomes -ᵹαⲛ (dan)
