Post by teengirlsquad »

Who else here has thought of making them?

Thought of it?
For sure!
Worked it into my conhistory, even!
But -- worked out the details of why the dialects differ?

@teengirlsquad: I don't understand to whom you were addressing your last few posts. If they were directed to me, then, I don't understand the questions, exactly. In particular, (1) what's the antecedent of "it"? and (2) what do you mean by "elements"?

I mean, could you guess which accents I was influenced by?

I had trouble telling when it was you that was talking. There's background noise in your video, and I couldn't tell whether your mouth-movements synched up with any part of your sound-track.
What does your normal voice sound like when you are speaking your native idiolect of English?
If I knew that, I might be able to answer your last question.

A Filipino-American hybrid that fluctuates in thickness.

Some of your YouTube posts have you speaking English with it recorded more clearly.
Some of them have you speaking your conlang "without an accent".
Edit: Both were helpful. They may make the difference for someone to be able to answer your question.
For me, they were helpful to reach the conclusion: "Now I know, for sure, I won't be able to answer teengirlsquad's question!" [:(]

BTW do you check your PMs on this BBoard?

Me talking in my conaccent, and this time it's actually thick enough that it doesn't sound like a more inarticulate version of an American accent: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roANXhCoB2A

your conlang phomematic implies a particular accent ...
You can, for example, try to speak English transcribed into your conlang, and even by adding your conlang idiomatics ...

This is just a side project that has nothing to do with my conlang.

This is more of a project inspired by how accents evolve in real life, like, when a bunch of people settle a new land, or some nationality that speaks English teaches it to them, brand new accents are made.
