Re: Guess the Word in Germanic Conlangs
Is it from Proto-Germanic *tukkijaną?
Re: Guess the Word in Germanic Conlangs
No it’s not. I’m afraid it’s not quite as transparent as that ;) but you’re on the right track.

Re: Guess the Word in Germanic Conlangs
Is the form on the right a past participle, or is my knowledge of German clouding my judgement?
Re: Guess the Word in Germanic Conlangs
In this case, your knowledge of German is clouding your judgment haha. The prefix is related to the German but has a different use in Gotski.shimobaatar wrote: ↑16 Mar 2018 19:16 Is the form on the right a past participle, or is my knowledge of German clouding my judgement?

Re: Guess the Word in Germanic Conlangs
Is it from 𐍄𐌿𐌻𐌲𐌾𐌰𐌽/tulgjan?
Re: Guess the Word in Germanic Conlangs
No. Sorry, I misread your question before and thought that the <T> was x-sampa/T/. The initial is the interdental fricative. Since I messed up I’ll also give you a couple extra clues...you have the right stem vowel now and you were closer with the stem ending in <k> than <g>.
