Comic translated
Hello! Though I'm new to this stuff, I thought I'd try myself in these translation challenges. Older, more experienced members, feel free to correct me if you deem necessary.
I've drawn a comic some time ago, and I thought i'd post it here so I could see, what it would sound like in other languages.
Text:
Dad, where do clouds come from?
Well, son, you see...
The world is a beautiful, marvelous place...
There's but one rule...
Never ask about clouds!
Kveyr
son: 'bary, kler hay tilaynetta dasy?'
father: 'sor, gin, onker...
håndur kwid fyele eo sirse ås.
ador un erger ås...
urwe...
aya...
tilaynetta...
helar...!'
Cheers!

Praise my Paint skills! Praise them, CBB!!!
That made a nice alliteration, by the way. (And Yélian poetry loves alliterations!)

Spoiler:
Wipe the glass. This is the usual way to start, even in the days, day and night, only a happy one.

Very nice, actually I really do like the alliteration at the end. Also, how did you know how my username is pronounced?
Re: Comic translated
Thanks! I just pronounced your username as a Yélian native speaker would, given nothing else.Aurremerion wrote:Very nice, actually I really do like the alliteration at the end. Also, how did you know how my username is pronounced?

Re: Comic translated
Will let my other conlangs follow. But as I haven't thought about art and fonts in those languages, I spare myself from doing new drawings.

Re: Comic translated
I flipped the image to accomodate the direction of the writing (right to left). I also redacted some of the images to better accomodate the text blocs; I could have done a better job. Nonetheless, this was fun!

Re: Comic translated
The image isn't showing up for me...
Re: Comic translated
Well, it's pretty densely-packed.
Re: Comic translated
The image seems to be gone now. This is why the original post should always contain the text as text too. Also for any blind people - there's a blind guy on the ZBB but I don't know if he's here too.
Glossing Abbreviations: COMP = comparative, C = complementiser, ACS / ICS = accessible / inaccessible, GDV = gerundive, SPEC / NSPC = specific / non-specific, AG = agent, E = entity (person, animal, thing)

I think I recall reading about what I am about to ask, possibly in (in)direct reference to that fellow, but, how does he 'read' our conlangs when written out? Does he just TTS the romanizations? How does he know which language TTS to use (PM??)
Is there a SAMPA-reading TTS???
Is there agschully a (long-coveted) IPA-reading TTS somewhere out there in the Internets to which he has special access???
