Re: Guess the Word in Romlangs
Is it "danger, peril"? I have a feeling there's more to it, but I figured I'd ask just to be sure.
Re: Guess the Word in Romlangs
"Danger, peril" is indeed the meaning of the first component of the word, but there is more to it.shimobaatar wrote: ↑21 Nov 2018 02:39 Is it "danger, peril"? I have a feeling there's more to it, but I figured I'd ask just to be sure.

Re: Guess the Word in Romlangs
Does lussour have a cognate in French?
Re: Guess the Word in Romlangs
Yes, an switch the same basic meaning, although in French the word was borrowed directly from Latin, while in Boral lussour is a direct descendant.

Re: Guess the Word in Romlangs
Is the French word luxure? If so, does perigllussour refer to the "lust for danger" that some people have?

Absolutely correct; in my mind I was thinking of that exact adrenaline-junkie "desire for danger".
Well done!

Re: Guess the Word in Romlangs
Ah, thank you! That's a great word; I actually can't think of a good equivalent in English. Once I realized that the second part of the word might be "lust", terms like "thrill-seeker" and "adrenaline junkie" came to mind, but those refer to people, not the feeling itself. I guess it's like Wanderlust, but for danger? Gefahrlust?Jackk wrote: ↑21 Nov 2018 15:05Wow!shimobaatar wrote: ↑21 Nov 2018 14:59 Is the French word luxure?
