Re: Guess the Word in Romlangs
<pealu tseanărïtse>
[pe̯alu t͡se̯anə'rɨt͡s]
<pealu>
[pe̯alu]
- The word comes from Classical Latin lapillus.
[t͡se̯anə'rɨt͡s]
- The word is a neuter singular noun. The neuter was preserved from Classical Latin.
- /e̯a/ < CL /ɪ/.
- /t͡s/ < CL /k/.
- /ɨ/ is not from CL /ɪ/ or /iː/, although the situation is apparently a bit confusing.
- The initial syllable in CL was /jɛ/.
Do /n/ and /r/ in the second word come from /n/ and /r/, respectively, in Classical Latin?

Re: Guess the Word in Romlangs
Is tseanărïtse a compound word?
Re: Guess the Word in Romlangs
It's made of two words that are independent in Vulgar Latin
(If you look at the Learran thread, <ïtse> is from metipse)

Re: Guess the Word in Romlangs
Is there a deleted syllable in tseanăr?
Re: Guess the Word in Romlangs
tseanăr < a derivative of iecur? Does the word mean something like ?

Re: Guess the Word in Romlangs
To be clear, it comes from iecur (iecinoris specifically), and it's not a kidney stone. It's some sort of bodily stone though.

Bladder stone?
Re: Guess the Word in Romlangs
not quite. Remember that it's IECUR. Big hint: liver is just <ficatu>. tseanar was used for a nearby organ that's closely associated with the liver.
