Other Creativity

What can I say? It doesn't fit above, put it here. Also the location of board rules/info.

Well it's not meant to be very gruesome.
I definitely DON'T want to have to look at those reference pictures.

I once filled up a page with drawings of penguins doing different things. The ones that said something spoke in Russian, with little speech bubbles above them. I looked it over, and it seems my Cyrillic handwriting doesn't look like an earthquake is occurring as I write anymore. As much as I'd like to show the paper here, I lost it in a drawer somewhere and I forgot which one I put it in. I'll look for it tomorrow and take a photo of it.

I also drew a flag. Using marker instead of a brush or even colored pencils ruined it. I might remake it, since it's not complicated to the point where I want to throw the brush at the wall.
Practice.
I normally want to throw my drawings in the garbage but eh, it's the only way to get better.

There's also a handwriting thread floating around in the EE section if you do find it.

I suddenly had a random urge to write something. I don't know if I'll finish it, but here it is:
Spoiler:
"Change of plans, we're turning left."

"But the restaurant is that way!" I said, pointing right.

The taxi driver glanced at his mirror. Immediately he stepped on the gas, and we must have been going 80 miles an hour.

"Slow down!" I yelled.

Suddenly we veered off of the road. We were racing down a steep hill straight for a river. I closed my eyes, and the next thing I knew, I was back on Main Street in the same taxi with the same driver.

"Change of plans," he said. "We're turning right."

No. The way I came up with this was when I was on a website that has short story ideas.

I like it (I'm also not a big fan of smoking. Or drinking. Or drugs at all.).
And I could understand the first sentence in the second ad. [:D]

Me neither. I was looking at various anti-smoking ads, and people have some really bizarre and/or interesting ideas for them.

I wrote a poem, based on Jewish tales about Abraham:

When he was at age three

Abram saw the sun upon the sea

And said in his heart, the prodigy,

“Sun, Sun, who hath made thee?

Did you yourself, are you He-

-He that made the moon and light

And the stars that shine by night?

Nay, nay, it cannot be,

For if you were He-

Why’d you hide yourself at night

Hiding up your light so bright

So,

Nay, nay, it cannot be,

Then who, I ask, who is He?

He is one above us all

Above the strong, above the tall

Above the Sun, Above the Moon

Above even Angels’ tune,

He has no body, he has no form,

He’ll never die; He wasn’t born.

Yea, My Lord,

I admit to thee

Thy power and thy majesty.”
Many children make up, or begin to make up, imaginary languages. I have been at it since I could write.

I wrote part of a horror story. It's about three teenagers on their way to move things for their recently dead grandma when the feel an aura of ghastliness and decide to check out the deeper parts of the grandma's old house to confront their fear and/ or end what they assume are paranormal beings, using savvyness from horror movies/ books. In reality, they end up die of crippling starvation, unaware the ghost doesn't exist and have just scared themselves with the weird vibe the apartment-house place gives.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1o__ ... sp=sharing

It's my first story barring the hastily-made abortion of a joke romantic I wrote about Micamo and Thakowsaizmu, so please go a bit easy on me and as be descriptive as you can.

Inspired by Sesame Street and the Phonology of my !hicnar, humorous if terminologically wrong parody of the Beatles "Let it be"
When I find myself in times of trouble
The IPA comes to me
"Use it in your conlang:
Letter B"
And in my hour of darkness
It is standing right in front of me
"Use it in your conlang:
Letter B"
Letter B Letter B Letter B yeah Letter B
Voiced Bilabial Plosive
Letter B

And when the !icnar speaking people
Living in my world agree
There will be a phoneme, letter B
Though their labial's haven't started
There is still a chance that they will see
There will be a phoneme, letter B
Letter B Letter B Letter B yeah Letter B
Voiced Bilabial Plosive
Letter B
Letter B Letter B Letter B yeah Letter B
Voiced Bilabial Plosive
Letter B
And when the phones are cloudy
There is still a light that shines on me
Shine on until I conlang , Letter B
I wake up to the sounds of phonemes
The IPA comes to me
"Use it in your conlang:
Letter B"
Letter B Letter B Letter B yeah Letter B

Very good! And while we're at song parodies... why don't we Indo-Europeanize a couple of songs?

Let's see:

Gloria Gaynor - I am what I am

éǵoh₁ h₁ésmi kʷód h₁ésmi
h₁éti kʷód h₁ésmi
needs no excuses...

I deal my own deck
sometimes the aces
sometimes the deuces...

Life's ne worth a wáy
till you can shout
h₁ésmi kʷód h₁ésmi...

Paul Young - Love of the common people

'Cause you're living in the love of the Kurgan people
Smiles from the ḱērd of a déms pótis
ph₂tér's gonna buy you a h₃énr̩ to cling to
mah₂tér's gonna love you just as much as she can...

Home on the range

Home, home in the steppe
where the sheep and the horses play
where at times one hears
Russian fire in the air
and Shakhtar win the league every year...

... How often at nókʷts, when the heavens are lewkóes
with the lówks from the glittering h₂stéres
Have I stood there amazed and asked as I gazed,
If their ḱléwos exceeds that of ours ...
Երկնէր երկին, երկնէր երկիր, երկնէր և ծովն ծիրանի.
