Feet or nothing; either on account of the grease or because no part is flying up in the sky when the duck is swimming!

Feet makes sense. They can be dry because they have no feathers, and they are tucked under a duck’s feathers, out of sight, when flying.

I didn't even think to look it up, but yeah...that's one answer. Nice thing about the riddle game is different answers are possible!

Alright, try looking this one up:

cânô rôwnam that thû qanes lîsên:

sêngô swôtlihhez thân enahh fôuwlêz

râvô syênenno-crûac te sêngên

rôdô strâng be ihh, nêin wortes frâm mîh

êthmê bêouten brêêt

sêngô bêouten wôrd

hênd mîh mâketun hênd mîh dêmând

thîm brêt mîh sende êêthm

I sing a rune that you can get:

I sing sweeter than any bird
I teach songbird to sing
Mighty tree am I, no roots from me!
I breathe without breath
I sing without word
Hands made me, hands guide me
Thy breath may be my soul.

A Daine riddle, if that helps any.

Also, should note the carats here mark the heavy syllables of poetic foot length, not, er, ordinary vowel length, which don't always coincide with metrical length. For the most part, spondees and dactyls, with an occasional breve.

And in good Daine fashion, the answer to the riddle is actually spelled out in the riddle itself.

Estat!

Extra credit if you can name the kind of flute. (All will bow and offer earthly worship if you can get close to the Querannaran word for this kind of flute...)

Nim-eu wis pheith. [:$]
I don't know at all.

I'm going to need some time to translate my riddle. You guys can continue on with determining what kind of flute it is if you want. [:P]

While I consider what kind of flute,

I translated the Daine Riddle into Sadrås.
Not too far a leap, I ween:

Cnaj uon Rûn hit cneðen Ðe alswæ:
Sæjaj sücirürlyc hin Wïrtes vöröven
Tæchej dåc gleðen yös Sengpfigel
Emj swækrötze uon Trun sûndör Röce!
Blewej sûndör yë Uinte
Sæjaj sûndör yë Uörde
Makked þös Hendt mj
Werkke þös Hendt mit mj
vïrððen Blight Ðej als Gast mej
Spoiler:
I know a Rune that you may know, too
I sing more sweetly than any bird
I teach that the songbirds may warble
I'm so great a tree without root!
I blow without wind,
I sing without word,
hands made me
Hands collaborate with me:
{so that} your puff {of breath} may become as my spirit

Cangeid id form eid

Eiges nef a drecon
[ɛi'dʒɛs nef ɛ drɛ'gõn]
Losgeid ac oldrag eid

Reiges sen eu so
[rɛi'dʒɛs sɛ̃n ɛu so]
Pid estat?
['pʰið ɛs'tad]
This changes its form,
'Tis a ship and a dragon:
It burns in its fury
Then sails away (lit. "rows hence")
What is it?
