@Freddie: Why (and/or how, I guess) did you come to like conlanging? And what are your goals for your next (or most recent) conlang?

I started to create a ciper with one of my friends on holiday once in Wales (2009), thinking it was an actual language!
But then about a year later I started to make a new one but with changes to grammar and I guess it just evolved.

Someone else, either here on this board or on some other site in the conlanging community, had a similar story.
S/he (and his/her classmates) started out enciphering notes passed in class; but the teacher learned how to decipher them.
(I seem to recall they even went past simple substitution ciphers, but the teacher still deciphered them.)
So they started to develop a different vocabulary rather than just a cipher; in other words, a code.
But the teacher learned how to decode that.
So they started varying the syntax and morphology too; turning their code into a conlang.

My goals are just to have a grammar system and vocabulary big enough to be able to use my conlang in everyday life, possibly even teaching myself and some friends to become fluent.
(or at least just very well educated in it).

Most conlangs wind up having just one speaker, and no fluent speakers. So if you have two speakers of whom at least one is fluent, you'll be ahead.

It's an artist drawing from the anime 07-Ghost. I can't seem to find the original image, but it basically depicted the main character (Teito) holding up a skull to his head. Though the image is a lot more dark than the series itself.

It doesn't completely rule out the possibility that it's raining now, but it's far more likely that the speaker would insert the word 'still' to indicate that future event referred to is also happening at the time of speaking. If it's not stated as happening at the present, it's usually because it isn't.

OK, that makes it a "defeasible implicature", and gives a Gricean reason for it.
Like I said, I'd never heard of that particular implicature before, and it had never occurred to me before that anyone else would make that implicature.

It seems your idiolect's pragmatics are different from mine's; perfectly reasonable and understandable IMO, but different from mine's.
Others' on the bboard share yours'. It seems yet others' share mine's.
I was wondering where the line is drawn, and whether it is a boundary in space or a boundary in time.

Political ideology: Obscure. Libertarian would be most accurate, but even that doesn't really capture the whole story. I tend to take issues on a case-by-case basis and debate them with myself from first principles to arrive at a position that tends to leave me in a small unpopulated corner of the political spectrum. Yay animal rights, though! Except, there's no such thing as "rights". We made them up. Drat, then. We can always pretend.
Conlangs: Kólos (newly named). It's my first conlang that's gotten beyond the planning stage. Over the years I've started dozens but have never managed to stick with them.
Other hobbies: Running, playing soccer, wrestling with my feline roommates ( ).
Where do you see yourself in ten years? I don't know where I'll be in three months, let alone 10 years. Wherever life takes me, really. I'm not one for long-term plans, I'd rather just enjoy the moment. If I get lucky, I'd like to find myself in a different country, speaking a different language, exploring life and the world.
