Re: Guess The Language 2
Yeah! After we got to Eastern Chatino, it was a process of elimination to find the specific dialect. I’ll get a text up soon.

Re: Guess The Language 2
It's a Yolngu language, no idea which one but I hope I don't have to guess that.
Re: Guess The Language 2
If you're looking for something more specific, is it Nhangu?

Re: Guess The Language 2
How did y'all figure it was Pama-Nyungen so fast?

Re: Guess The Language 2
Among other things, digraphs like <dh nh dj ny rr>, especially when they all appear together, are quite characteristic of the orthographies of indigenous Australian languages, and Pama-Nyungan is by far the largest language family native to Australia.
(Just to be clear: is Dhuwal specific enough, or would you like us to keep guessing?)

Dhuwal is specific enough, though it is the Djambarrpuyngu dialect.

Re: Guess The Language 2
Obviously a Sino-Tibetan language spoken in Nagaland. Ao?
Re: Guess The Language 2
"Obviously", huh? You're clearly familiar with quite a wide variety of languages.
In any case, it is an Ao/Central Naga language, but this specific variety does not have "Ao" in its name.

I’m not doing it again so soon, so Opipik can have a go.
