:D :D :D :D

What's the setting like for Dzougedan? What kinds of things does it tend to have/not have words for?

Well, there's this: https://cbbforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=323277#p323277
Maybe this: https://cbbforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=32 ... rn#p324866
Or this: https://cbbforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=32 ... aj#p323608

Think the Celts in 400, with occasional cities. Also remember the N/S castes.

"Cĭjr Tze?" or maybe better, "Tzejr Cĭ?", in simple cases. But what you call what isn't always Cĭ, and that isn't always Tze.
"Cĭjr Tze?" is more like a statement.

"Sorry," I gasp, slowly recovering air to my lungs. "I'm jumping around all over the place here. Lotsa fieldwork to do. Could you tell me how I'd say 'I'm running,' please?"

"Na Lis". Same as "I run." When you saying -ing, I often mix it up with no -ing.

"Ah," I say. "And is it the na that is 'run,' or the lis?"

Was that right?

That's interesting! Is that "who are you", or some other comment, I wonder? If the former it seems like there's a lot going on!

"Na Arajaz."
That is what is a good name. You call them birches.
But say it wrong and it will sound for a bad word.

Now Trejlsend, that was a... hm.

"Oh dear," I say, "not another language where my name is almost a profanity. I should say na Arajaz, then? So why can't we say tze cĭ; why must it be tzejr cĭ?"

Ĕĕĕĕĕĕĕĕĕĕĕĕĕĕ...
It just goes. You don't need say "I am Arajaz" - "Na Ir Arajaz." And - But - you can. And you can use the other. But Tzejr Cĭjr is more a thing... or a thing that you need to describe.

"Ir" is like "is" - it's the grammar. You need it in ways not far from English, but not close also.

Hmm.
Spoiler:
I took a guess that Od was some kind of negation, but I think that was wrong. From this:

Od Aj... ... Tzejr Cĭjr Juco Wag Wasog, Od, Tzejr Cĭjr Juco Od Wasog.

It feels like Od is some kind of conjunction? And maybe it also works as a connecting discourse particle, like "and" or "but". Maybe that's what it was doing here:

Od, Moj, Trejlsend. Tzejr Cĭjr Juco.

Maybe the Od was just some connective filler? If so, maybe Moj is the real negation. Let's see:
This time I put both the knife and the rock on the table, the knife to one side, the rock to the other—separated enough that I can point at one without it looking like I'm pointing to the two of them together.

Is this right?

I point first at the knife.

Tzejr Cĭjr Moj Juco, I say, shaking my head. Tzejr Cĭjr Wasog.

Then I point at the rock.

Tzejr Cĭjr Moj Wasog, I say, shaking my head. Tzejr Cĭjr Juco.
